These Terms of Service govern your use of the Rico mobile application. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.
Rico is an AI-powered cooking assistant that generates recipes, cooking guidance, and nutritional estimates using large language model technology (including services from Anthropic and OpenAI). All content is AI-generated and provided for informational purposes only.
All recipes, cooking instructions, substitution suggestions, and nutritional information are generated by artificial intelligence. This content is provided "as-is" without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. AI-generated content may contain errors.
Rico does not provide medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. Nutritional values (calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber) are AI-estimated and have not been verified by a registered dietitian or nutritionist. Consult a healthcare provider or registered dietitian before making dietary decisions, especially if you have food allergies, intolerances, or medical conditions.
Rico uses AI to detect and substitute allergens based on your stated dietary restrictions. However, AI allergen detection is not guaranteed to be complete or accurate. You must always independently verify all ingredients against your known allergens before consuming any food prepared using Rico recipes. Do not rely solely on this app to manage food allergies.
You are solely responsible for following safe food handling practices, verifying cooking temperatures, and ensuring food is properly prepared. Rico aims to provide USDA-compliant cooking temperatures but cannot guarantee accuracy in all cases. Always use a food thermometer and follow FDA/USDA food safety guidelines.
You agree to: (a) verify all ingredients against your allergen list before cooking; (b) follow safe food handling and cooking practices; (c) not rely on this app as your sole source of allergen or food safety information; (d) confirm you are at least 13 years of age.
By uploading photos to Rico (for recipe import or cooking assistance), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to process those images for the purpose of providing the service. You retain ownership of your photos.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Agora Labs LLC and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to allergic reactions, foodborne illness, or adverse health effects. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the preceding 12 months.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Agora Labs LLC and its developers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app or violation of these terms.
Rico Pro is available as a monthly subscription at $5.99/month. Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and can be cancelled at any time through your device settings. Refunds are handled per Apple's refund policy.
Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You agree to waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
